Job summary

Holywater NOLA is seeking a Dishwasher / Porter to join our back-of-house team at 622 Conti St, New Orleans. The role keeps glassware, china, and kitchen areas clean and sanitized, while supporting DOH compliance and safe food handling.

Shifts include day, night, weekends; you will work with a friendly crew, carry up to 50 lbs, and contribute to a positive guest experience with timely setup and breakdown of service stations.

Job Overview

Position Summary

Our Dishwasher / Porters are integral to our operation, as they ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of their work area. Porters are professional, friendly, hardworking, and have a willingness to learn and grow on the job.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all glassware and china
• Comply with Company and Department of Health established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards; observe proper food preparation and handling techniques and safety protocols
• Comply with Company safety plan and standards as set forth in training materials
• Dispose of all trash, cardboard, etc. from kitchen and service areas as required
• Exercise sound judgement taking into account safety, customer needs, and environmental factors
• Keep work area neat and clean at all times to ensure DOH standards are met
• Maintain cleanliness of all storage areas and back of house areas by emptying trash, sweeping and mopping floors, etc.
• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation tasks as directed
• Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy
• Set up and breakdown station to specification; perform cleaning tasks at the conclusion of each service and prepare for the following service
• Clean and stock bathrooms
• Work with venues on DOH compliance

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to perform essential job functions when working in a high business volume, fast-paced environment
• Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods of time as required to perform essential job functions
• Able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
• Organizational skills
• Polished personal presentation; grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook
• Willingness to work in outdoor climate conditions
• Must have a positive attitude and work well within a team
• Working proficiency of written and spoken English
