Job summary

Position Summary: Ensure all service/kitchen-wares are clean and sanitized. Interact with fellow team members and supervisors politely and courteously to ensure gracious hospitality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Tao Group Hospitality Employee Handbook.
  2. Anticipate and accommodate the needs of all employees.
  3. Aide in cleaning inside and outside the venue.
  4. Properly store and remove garbage and soiled linens.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dish station, the kitchen, and the entire venue.
  6. Follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers, and be a team player.
  7. Possess in-depth knowledge of the dish machine and proper usage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
  8. Have general knowledge of the venue.
  9. Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  10. Communicate product needs to the chefs and/or purchaser.
  11. Set up dish station and perform opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including stocking stations, maintaining and cleaning kitchen equipment, and sanitizing stations.
  12. Perform opening and closing side-work as prescribed.
  13. Report all breakage and damage immediately.
  14. Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings, training sessions, and departmental meetings.
  15. Learn by listening, observing, sharing knowledge, and leading by example.
  16. Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  17. Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
  18. Work as part of a team, offering help and support to fellow team members.

Training Requirements:

  • Tao Group Hospitality in-venue Dish Washer training and Food Handling Certificate.

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Previous porter and/or dish washer experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive motion tasks.
  • Exposure to hot kitchen elements and cleaning materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
