Position Summary

The Dishwasher is responsible for the sanitation of all kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, dishware, glassware, and silverware, as well as trash disposal. The Dishwasher also ensures the cleanliness of all back-of-house areas, including sanitization and maintenance of equipment, shelving, tabletops, floors, walls, and more. Dishwashers assist in pulling and staging all equipment before setup, during the event, and during clean-up. They are expected to stay composed and flexible in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong initiative and teamwork to ensure event success.

This role offers an hourly wage range of $15 - $17.

About the Venue

The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000 sq ft exhibit hall, a 22,000 sq ft ballroom, 21,000 sq ft of flexible meeting space, and connects to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach.

Responsibilities

• Operate dish machine equipment and wash items not dishwasher safe by hand.
• Ensure the highest sanitation levels for all used items to prevent contamination.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes.
• Maintain a clean and orderly storage area for kitchen supplies.
• Store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment properly.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, disposals, and ovens.
• Assist in plate-up and food production line as needed.
• Sort and remove trash or compost, and clean after usage.
• Sweep and scrub all kitchen and back-of-house floors.
• Clean up spills and breakages in the event and kitchen areas.
• Comply with health, sanitation, safety, and employment regulations per company standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for morning, noon, and evening shifts on an on-call/event basis.
• Provide regular and consistent availability to management.
• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or related food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Obtain and maintain a Food Handlers Card through ServeSafe and other required trainings.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with employees, management, and guests.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as boxes and equipment.
