In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Nutrition Services Aide serves meals to patients, hospital staff/associates, and visitors, and performs cleaning/sanitation duties as assigned.
*This position is open to candidates aged 16 and above.

About the job:

The Diet Clerk performs clerical and administrative duties supporting patient meal services and clinical dietitian functions, embodying teamwork and adhering to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

What you'll do:

  • Exemplify Mount Carmel Service Excellence Standards, demonstrating friendliness, effective communication, and professionalism.
  • Promote a Culture of Safety by following policies to prevent injuries and adverse outcomes.
  • Assist patients or families with menu selections during visits.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and requests.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of special diets to ensure proper patient care.
  • Utilize computer systems effectively, including Patient Care System, CBORD Diet Office Management, and others.
  • Check patient trays for accuracy during meal service.

What we're looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; college training in Dietetics or related fields is a plus. Must be proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Previous healthcare experience or knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and remain calm under stress.
  • Professional demeanor with good rapport-building skills with patients, families, and staff.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and schedules.
