Job summary

Hometown Coffee & Juice is seeking a friendly Dishwasher to support our fast-paced kitchen. You will wash, rinse, sanitize, and organize dishes, keeping the dish area clean and efficient to help the team deliver quality food and service all day.

Position Summary

At Hometown Coffee & Juice, every role plays an important part in creating a great customer experience. As a Dishwasher, you help keep the heart of our kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly. You'll be responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment while maintaining a clean and efficient dish area.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership. Your work directly supports the kitchen team and helps ensure we are ready to deliver quality food and service throughout the day.

What You'll Do

Keep the Kitchen Moving

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment according to Hometown standards.
• Maintain a steady flow of clean dishes and equipment, especially during busy service periods.
• Prioritize dishwashing needs based on kitchen volume and communicate with teammates when support is needed.
• Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed to help the team stay ahead of demand.

Maintain a Clean & Organized Workspace

• Keep the dish area, sinks, counters, floors, and surrounding equipment clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Regularly inspect dishes and utensils to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Maintain appropriate levels of cleaning and dishwashing supplies and communicate when items are running low.
• Properly dispose of trash and recyclables and help keep the entire BOH area clean.

Support Food Safety & Sanitation

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Handle and store dishes, kitchen equipment, and cleaning supplies properly.
• Follow Hometown's cleanliness standards and help prevent cross-contamination.

Be a Great Teammate

• Work closely with kitchen teammates and leadership to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow direction, communicate clearly, and ask questions when clarification is needed.
• Bring a positive, dependable, and team-first attitude to every shift.
• Support teammates wherever needed during busy periods.

What You Bring

• Previous dishwasher or kitchen experience is preferred, but we are happy to train the right person.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation and dishwashing practices is a plus.

Mantener la Cocina en Movimiento

• Lavar, enjuagar, sanitizar y organizar platos, utensilios, ollas, sartenes y equipos de cocina de acuerdo con los estándares de Hometown.
• Mantener un flujo constante de platos y equipos limpios, especialmente durante los períodos de mayor actividad.
• Priorizar las necesidades de lavado según el volumen de la cocina y comunicarte con tus compañeros cuando se necesite apoyo.
• Ayudar con otras tareas de cocina según sea necesario para ayudar al equipo a mantenerse preparado ante la demanda.

Mantener un Espacio de Trabajo Limpio y Organizado

• Mantener el área de lavado, fregaderos, mostradores, pisos y equipos cercanos limpios y organizados durante todo el turno.
• Revisar regularmente los platos y utensilios para asegurarte de que estén correctamente lavados y sanitizados.
• Mantener niveles adecuados de productos de limpieza y suministros para el lavado y comunicar cuando algún producto esté por agotarse.
• Desechar correctamente la basura y los materiales reciclables y ayudar a mantener limpia toda el área de BOH.

Apoyar la Seguridad Alimentaria y la Sanitización

• Seguir todos los procedimientos de seguridad alimentaria, sanitización y seguridad.
• Manipular y almacenar correctamente los platos, equipos de cocina y productos de limpieza.
