Job Description: Dishwasher

Responsible for washing and sanitizing all food service utensils and miscellaneous items such as plates, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, etc. Also responsible for helping maintain the cleanliness of the back of the house area.

Essential Functions:

• Washing, sanitizing, and drying items as requested by management or staff
• Safely washing and sanitizing all kitchen utensils and machinery
• Ensuring the cleanliness of all items washed in the dish room
• Following proper dish washing procedures according to standing operating procedures
• Maintaining a pace to prevent backup of dishes and glassware
• Keeping a clean and orderly work area for safety
• Returning all items to the appropriate area after washing and sanitizing
• Reading a thermometer
• Maintaining dishwashing machinery and identifying potential issues
• Properly operating and utilizing the dish machine and cleaning supplies
• Identifying cleaning supplies and their specific uses
• Assisting with overall cleanliness of the kitchen area
• Performing duties efficiently alone if necessary
