Job Title: Prep Cook at Bar Louie

At Bar Louie, your primary focus as a Prep Cook is to ensure every guest feels safe and satisfied while enjoying our signature 'gastrogrub.' You play a vital role in preparing our menu items with cleanliness and accuracy, demonstrating a genuine care for people and a commitment to quality. Your day may involve prepping at one station, assisting with dishwashing, or working on the line, depending on shift needs. You are focused, fast, adaptable, and pride yourself on your work ethic. Your dedication to cleanliness and teamwork helps foster customer loyalty and contributes to our success.

Position Responsibilities
  • Exemplify Bar Louie’s Mission, Vision, and Values daily.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
  • Set up, clean, and maintain dish areas and equipment, including sinks.
  • Sanitize all small wares, cutlery, dishware, and food containers promptly and thoroughly.
  • Ensure proper food storage and temperature maintenance.
  • Keep the kitchen organized and clean as you work.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, with the ability to cross-train.
  • Follow directions and communicate effectively with management and peers.
  • Complete opening and closing duties efficiently, including cleaning, inventory, and sanitation tasks.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and sanitation standards set by the company and government regulations.
  • Follow policies and procedures communicated by management.
  • Provide accurate availability, check schedules regularly, and maintain consistent attendance.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication with managers and team members.

  • Ability to read and follow instructions accurately.
  • Memorize and prepare menu items to specifications.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform duties typical of a gastrobar environment, including lifting up to 50 pounds, working in hot or cold environments, standing and walking for extended periods, frequent hand washing, and operating kitchen equipment. Effective communication and manipulation of handheld devices are also required.
