Job summary

Gulf Coast Restaurant Group in Cullman, AL is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/General Utility to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of china, glassware, and utensils, and to keep the dishwashing area safe and organized.

You will sort and rinse dishes, wash pots and pans by hand, sweep floors, remove trash, set up or break down the dish area, and assist with general restaurant cleaning. Expect long hours and weekend shifts in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Experience working in commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware and utensils; place in racks for dish machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes; carry to cook’s line and storage; rewash soiled dishes.
• Wash pots, pans and trays by hand using proper wash, rinse, sanitize method.
• Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
• Set up or break down dishwashing area.
• Clean and roll/unroll mats as applicable.
• Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Sweep up trash around exterior and dumpster.
• Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
• Wipe up spills to keep kitchen floors dry.
• Notify Kitchen Manager if dish machine wash or rinse temps fall below safety standards.
• Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands.
• Other duties as directed.
