Job summary

Sifted is hiring a Dishwasher/Porter on our culinary team in New York. You will work alongside an experienced chef in our commissary kitchen, supporting daily lunch service for startups.

You will perform dishwashing, receive and store shipments, keep walk-in and dry storage clean, assist with light prep, and coordinate with the chef and manager. This part-time role offers 5am-1pm shifts, health and retirement perks, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Prioritizes food safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn and take on new duties.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing and maintaining a clean dish area.
• Receiving and storing food shipments.
• Cleaning and organizing walk-in and dry storage.
• Cleaning and closing duties (trash, cardboard).
• Light food preparation as needed.
• Communicate with chef and manager about kitchen issues.
• Support with catering and event servicing as required.
