Job summary

Sifted, LLC is hiring a Dishwasher/Porter to support our commissary kitchen in New York. You will work closely with an experienced chef in a fast-paced environment, ensuring cleanliness and food safety standards are met.

The role involves dishwashing, receiving and storing shipments, basic food prep, and collaborating with the chef and manager on kitchen issues. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs; pay is $22/hour. This is a part-time position with a ServSafe card provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Must maintain ServSafe Food Handler card (company-paid).
• Desire to learn and be a dedicated team player.
• Experience in kitchen roles such as line cook, prep/dishwasher, or porter is a plus.

Sifted is hiring a Dishwasher/Porter on our culinary team. We provide daily lunch for some of the hottest startups. We need an extra team member in our kitchen who works well in a fast-paced environment and can help us maintain our food safety and cleanliness standards!

In this role, you will work side by side with an experienced chef in our commissary kitchen . If you have a desire to learn, are a dedicated and responsible team player, and are looking to cultivate your skills in the kitchen, we want to meet you!

What you'll be doing

• Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday // 5am - 1pm
• Dishwashing
• Receiving and storing food shipments
• Cleaning and organizing walk in and dry storage
• Cleaning and closing duties (trash, cardboard)
• Light food prep
• Communicating with chef and manager about any kitchen related issues
• Has worked in previous kitchen roles such as line cook, prep/dishwasher, porter
• Has had experience with catering and event servicing
• Has the ability to bend, twist, and stand
• Has the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Compensation : $22 per hour
• 401(k) program available after six months of employment
• 24 hours of PTO with each year of employment and 10 company paid holidays
