Job summary

Balboa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a full-time Dishwasher (Food Services) to support daily dining operations and maintain kitchen cleanliness in a healthcare setting.

The role involves setting up meal trays, operating the dishwasher, preparing snacks, and ensuring sanitary food service areas, while following safety protocols and cooperating with dietary staff and other departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
