STATUS: Part-Time or Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

About the Role

The Dishwasher serves as a critical member of Oscar's kitchen team and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the kitchen operation. This position ensures dishes, cookware, utensils, and food preparation equipment are consistently cleaned, sanitized, and available to support efficient food service.

The Dishwasher supports the success of the kitchen by maintaining a clean and organized work environment, assisting with routine cleaning tasks, and providing support to cooks and kitchen leadership as needed. This role helps ensure Oscar's can deliver high-quality food and hospitality experiences to every guest.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Dishwashing & Sanitation

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and food preparation equipment.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure a continuous supply of clean kitchen tools and service ware throughout service periods.
• Follow all cleaning, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all local health and sanitation requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dish area throughout each shift.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors as directed.
• Empty trash and recycling and maintain waste disposal areas.
• Clean sinks, drains, storage areas, and other back-of-house spaces.
• Assist with daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Assist cooks and kitchen leadership with basic food preparation and support tasks as needed.
• Help receive and organize deliveries.
• Properly store clean dishes, cookware, and kitchen supplies.
• Support kitchen setup, breakdown, and closing responsibilities.
• Assist with keeping storage areas organized and stocked.

Teamwork & Communication

• Work collaboratively with cooks, Kitchen Leads, and the Head Chef to support efficient service.
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong sense of teamwork during high-volume periods.
• Communicate equipment, supply, sanitation, or maintenance concerns to kitchen leadership.
• Support a culture of hospitality and mutual respect.

Compliance & Safety

• Maintain compliance with all food safety, health, and workplace safety regulations.
• Properly handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation products.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Utilize safe lifting and equipment handling practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous dishwashing, restaurant, or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

WORKING CONDITIONS

As this position is working in a restaurant environment, the physical demands of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Standing for extended periods of time.
• Walking, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Frequently lifting up to 30 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Working in a hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Working with cleaning chemicals and sanitation products.
• Exposure to varying kitchen temperatures and noise levels.

Employment with Highland Brewing Co. may be terminated by either Highland or the employee at any time with or without cause or notice.
