Job summary

Milestone Retirement Communities is hiring a part-time dishwasher in Washington to support the dining team and ensure dishes are cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored. You will help maintain a safe, clean kitchen and dining environment under the supervision of Culinary Services leadership.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a professional customer service mindset while supporting residents, families, and staff during meals and events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Compassion for and desire to work with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive customer service culture in the dining room.
• Transport dishes to the kitchen and maintain a clean dining area.
• Clear, wash, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and tabletop items.
• Return dishes and utensils to appropriate storage areas.
• Ensure safe work practices for yourself and coworkers; comply with Safety Committee Standards.
• Complete sanitation and cleanup tasks for dish room, kitchen, dining areas, steam tables, sinks, and drains.
• Empty trash and follow daily cleaning schedules.
• Assist with serving residents in the dining room as needed.
• Maintain flexibility with daily schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed.
• Display friendliness and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and visitors.
• Provide support during community tours and events.
• Follow dress code and maintain a positive professional image.
• Report elder maltreatment or abuse as required to appropriate management and authorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Culinary Services
