Part Time Dishwasher - Healthcare Culinary Department

Bishop Gadsden, located on James Island, is a not-for-profit, faith-based retirement community affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Known as the Southeast's leading life care retirement community, we are just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston.

The Utility/Dishwasher position involves tasks related to cleaning equipment and dishes used during food services. Our team maintains floors, counters, walls, the dish room, and service areas in a pristine condition.

A Typical Day

1. Clean and store dishes and pans efficiently and safely.
2. Remove trash, replace liners, and break down boxes.
3. Check and record temperatures as needed.
4. Assist with proper and sanitary food storage at the end of meal service.
5. Work independently with proper direction.
6. Perform simple food preparation tasks.

Requirements

What We Look For In A Candidate:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Interpersonal skills for effective communication and courteous interactions with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
