Job Summary: The dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the kitchen dish area and equipment, keeping it clean and orderly, while ensuring all plate ware, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils are clean for use by the staff and guests.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains clean restaurant as determined by management. Cleaning will include, but not be limited to the kitchen, guest areas, and restrooms.
- Ensures that dishware, glassware, and utensils are consistently clean, the dish machine is working properly, chemicals are correct, and the kitchen work areas are clean and safe.
- Scrapes food from dirty dishes and places them in the dish racks.
- Washes all utensils, glassware, and dishware.
- Washes pots, pans, and other cooking equipment by hand.
- Sorts and removes trash to dumpster.
- Sorts and stocks clean glassware, utensils, and dishware.
- Changes dish machine chemicals and water frequently.
- Cleans a variety of work and dining areas as directed.
- Adheres to work schedule as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Efficient, quick, and works well as part of a team.
Physical Effort:
- Stands for hours at a time.
- Lifts and carries racks of up to 50 pounds, reaching and placing them on high shelves.
- Frequently works in a hot, damp, small workplace.
