Job Summary

Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils in orderly and sanitary condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on the conveyor to the dishwashing machine as assigned.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polish silverware using burnishing machine, tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth depending on equipment and procedures, ensuring quality sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain temperatures and chemical levels per standards.
• Keep the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, and wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food‑prep surfaces.
• Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam‑clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas; help load and unload supplies and products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
