Responsibilities

• Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or machine.
• Washes pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures.
• Polishes silver using burnishing machines and hand cloths.
• Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures.
• Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by standards.
• Keeps the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors.
• Washes worktables, walls, and other food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and steam cleans garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment.
• Helps load and unload supplies and product.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Full‑time Dishwasher – Frost Valley YMCA, 2000 Frost Valley Road, Claryville, NY 12725

Schedule: Full time; days may vary between 7:00 am–3:00 pm or 11:00 am–7:00 pm.

Fixed Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour.

Prior dishwashing experience is preferred, but not required.

Job Summary

Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen and work areas, equipment and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyors to the dishwashing machine, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Washes pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polishes silver using burnishing machines, chemical dips, buffing wheels, and hand cloths as assigned, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures.
• Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
• Keeps the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and places it in designated containers; steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Helps load and unload supplies and product.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
