Job summary

Ford's Garage Florence is seeking a dishwasher to keep the kitchen running smoothly by washing tableware, pots and pans, and assisting the team with a clean, organized space.

This role requires basic restaurant hospitality knowledge, English literacy, and reliable transportation. You will follow safety procedures, support opening/closing duties, and uphold a positive, team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic restaurant hospitality and service-minded attitude.
• Good hearing for safety and accurate communication.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to tolerate temperature changes and frequent immersion of hands in water.
• Must possess valid food safety certification or state-required alcohol certification.
• Compliance with dress and appearance policy including black slip resistant shoes.
• Ability to pass general information and departmental tests (≥90%).

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and sanitary restrooms at all times.

• Perform opening set up, running side work and closing duties.
• Maintain dish area safety and sanitation.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.

• Sweep parking lots, back dock, and kitchen frequently.
• Follows directions and uses caution when handling chemicals and or machinery.
• Dispose of trash and debris.
• Perform job functions with accordance to performance standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the General Manager/Department Manager.

Job Summary

Dishwashers are responsible to wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. They keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized, and stock the kitchen with clean tableware. Dishwashers are also responsible to help remove garbage from the restaurant and maintain a clean restaurant.

• Requires ability to tolerate significant changes in temperature, and frequent immersion of hands in water and cleaning or sanitizing solutions.
• Must possess valid food safety certification or any other food/alcohol certification if required by state law.
• Compliance with our dress and appearance policy including black slip resistant shoes.
• Ability to pass general information and departmental tests (score of 90% or higher).

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods walking or standing
• Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 50 pounds at a time
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently
• Must frequently immerse hands in water
• Must be able to work in a hop and damp environment
