Job summary

Harbor’s Edge Continuing Care Retirement Community in Norfolk, VA seeks reliable full- and part-time dishwashers to support our dining services in a friendly, resident-focused environment. You will wash, sanitize, and store dishes and kitchenware, maintain clean work areas, follow safety guidelines, and assist the kitchen team to ensure timely meal service in a respectful, team-driven setting.

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is needed; applicants should be able to stand long periods

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred; healthcare setting experience a plus.
• Passion for serving older adults and strong work ethic.
• Positive attitude, reliability and teamwork are essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas.
• Dispose of trash and assist with routine cleaning tasks as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
• Support the kitchen team to ensure efficient meal service.
• Assist with other kitchen duties as assigned.
