Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Miami is seeking a Dishwasher to support the culinary and service teams. You will clean and sanitize dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring items are ready for use and health and sanitation standards are met.

No prior experience required; a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, and vacation. Shift flexibility including nights, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education preferred.
• No prior experience required; previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep up with high volume.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishware, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, and cooking equipment by hand or using the dish machine.
• Sort, stack, and return clean items to their designated storage areas in the kitchen and outlets.
• Operate and maintain the dish machine, monitoring water temperature and chemical levels to ensure proper sanitation, and report any malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Set up, break down, and clean the dish area at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Keep the kitchen, dish area, walk-in coolers and freezers, and storage areas clean and organized, including sweeping and mopping floors and wiping down surfaces.
• Remove trash, recycling, and food waste to designated areas, and clean trash receptacles.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines.
• Report breakage, low supply levels, and any safety or maintenance concerns to a supervisor.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or management.
