Job summary

Pick & Cheese at Shaver Food Hall in New York, NY is hiring a Dishwasher to keep plates, glassware, and tools spotless while supporting a fast-paced kitchen. You’ll operate dish machines, monitor temperatures and chemical levels, and help maintain clean, safe back-of-house areas.

Ideal candidates are reliable, hardworking, able to stand for long periods, and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
• Able to stand for long periods in hot and wet conditions.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and put away dishes, glassware, cutlery, cookware, and conveyor plates quickly and correctly.
• Operate and maintain dish machines, and monitor water temperature and chemical levels to meet sanitation standards.
• Keep dish stations, prep areas, floors, and storage spaces clean and organized throughout service.
• Make sure the kitchen and service teams have a steady supply of clean wares during peak periods.
• Handle trash, recycling, and compost removal according to food hall procedures.
• Help receive and put away deliveries, and support basic prep when needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and chemical handling guidelines.
• Support opening, closing, and deep‑cleaning duties to set the team up for success.
• Work collaboratively with teammates and tell management about equipment or supply issues.
