Job summary

Cape Fear Country Club is seeking a dependable Dishwasher to maintain cleanliness and organization in our kitchen area. Responsibilities include washing and storing all utensils, glassware, and dishes, and assisting with general kitchen cleaning and maintenance throughout service periods.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift at least 50 pounds, and a flexible schedule to support a busy club environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash and properly store all cooking utensils, china, flatware, and glassware
• Wash wares in dishwashing machine or by hand according to sanitation standards
• Collect trash from kitchen areas and manage bags
• Examine garbage for misplaced silverware and reusable items
• Wash and polish all stainless steel in the kitchen
• Wash and clean receiving, trash and kitchen areas
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors
• Store dishes and wares in proper areas
• Clean dish machine and dish area after each meal period
• Maintain inventories of soap, chemicals, and paper towels
• Transfer supplies between storage and work areas
• Handle china and glassware to minimize breakage
• Inspect floors in kitchen areas for cleanliness and safety
• Assist in weekly kitchen cleaning and maintenance
• Store cleaning equipment properly

Job description

Summary (Essential Functions): Wash and properly store all cooking utensils, china equipment, flatware, and glassware.

Details:

• Wash all wares in dishwashing machine or by hand according to the highest sanitation standards
• Collect trash from kitchen areas; empty garbage cans, wash, and re-line with new bags. Break down boxes, crates, and removes debris
• Examine garbage for misplaced silverware, dishes, glassware, and other reusable items
• Wash and polish all stainless steel in the kitchen including shelves, dish cabinets, ice machines, coffee area, refrigerators, walk‑ins, etc.
• Wash and clean receiving, trash and other kitchen-related areas
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors
• Store all dishes and other wares in proper areas
• Clean dish machine and dish area after each meal period
• Maintain inventories of soap, chemicals, and paper towels
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
• Handle all china and glassware carefully to minimize breakage
• Continuously inspect floors in kitchen areas to ensure they remain clean, clear of debris, and dry
• Assist in completing weekly kitchen cleaning and maintenance list
• Clean and safely store all brooms, mops, and other cleaning equipment in their proper places

Qualifications: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds. Flexible availability preferred. Qualified candidates will be reliable, professional, and able to successfully work in a team environment.
