Job summary

The Big Biscuit in Wichita, KS is seeking a friendly, reliable dishwasher to keep our breakfast service flowing smoothly.

You will wash and sanitize dishes, support the kitchen team, and maintain a clean, organized dish area in a fast-paced breakfast and lunch environment.

This daytime role is great for part-time work, with weekends and holidays busy; applicants should be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Stand for 4–8 hours per shift.
• Lift up to 50 pounds (bus tubs, bags, stacks of dishes).
• Work in a warm, humid dish area with noise.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans per health standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, sinks, machines, floors, and surfaces.
• Operate dish machines safely and report issues to management.
• Take out trash and recycling.
• Assist with restocking clean dishes and small wares to stations.
• Support kitchen staff with basic prep or cleaning tasks when needed.
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and cleanliness procedures.
• Keep up with dish flow during peak periods for smooth operations.
• Maintain proper chemical usage and sanitation levels.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans according to health and safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, including sinks, machines, floors, and work surfaces
• Operate dish machines safely and report any issues to management
• Take out trash, and recycling
• Assist with restocking clean dishes and small wares to the appropriate stations
• Support kitchen staff by helping with basic prep or cleaning tasks when needed
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and cleanliness procedures
• Keep up with dish flow during peak service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain proper chemical usage and ensure correct sanitation levels

Physical & Lifting Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift (typically 4–8 hours)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 5 0 pounds (bus tubs, trash bags, stacks of dishes, equipment)
• Frequent bending, reaching, scrubbing, and working around hot water and steam
• Ability to work in a warm, humid dish area with constant movement
