Job summary

The Big Biscuit is seeking a dependable dishwashing teammate for daytime shifts in Springfield, MO. You will wash and sanitize dishes, maintain a clean work area, and support kitchen staff during busy times.

Hours are 6:30 am–2:30 pm with weekends and holidays required. This fast-paced breakfast-lunch service demands teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans according to health standards.
• Maintain a clean dish area, including sinks, machines, floors and surfaces.
• Follow sanitation, safety and cleanliness procedures.
• Support kitchen staff during busy periods and restock as needed.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area.
• Operate dish machines safely and report issues to management.
• Take out trash and recycling.
• Assist with restocking dishes and small wares.
• Support kitchen staff with basic prep or cleaning if needed.
• Follow all sanitation and safety procedures.
• Maintain proper chemical usage and sanitation levels.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans according to health and safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, including sinks, machines, floors, and work surfaces
• Operate dish machines safely and report any issues to management
• Take out trash, and recycling
• Assist with restocking clean dishes and small wares to the appropriate stations
• Support kitchen staff by helping with basic prep or cleaning tasks when needed
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and cleanliness procedures
• Keep up with dish flow during peak service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain proper chemical usage and ensure correct sanitation levels

Physical & Lifting Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift (typically 4–8 hours)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 5 0 pounds (bus tubs, trash bags, stacks of dishes, equipment)
• Frequent bending, reaching, scrubbing, and working around hot water and steam
• Ability to work in a warm, humid dish area with constant movement

• High‑volume breakfast and lunch service
• Exposure to hot water, cleaning chemicals, and continuous noise
