Job summary

Busboys and Poets is seeking a reliable food service team member in Washington, DC to perform dishwashing and related kitchen support tasks. You will work in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting with a varied schedule and competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities include cleaning dishes, maintaining sanitation standards, stocking supplies, and assisting with general kitchen duties. Weekend availability and team collaboration are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have weekend availability and work a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
• Must be able to work with a team.
• Must be able to follow sanitation protocol.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, and utensils using dishwashers or by hand.
• Place clean dishes and utensils in storage areas.
• Maintain clean and orderly kitchen work areas and equipment.
• Stock supplies in serving stations and storage areas.
• Sweep or scrub floors and clean garbage cans.
• Sort and dispose of trash according to pickup guidelines.
• Lift or carry heavy items such as trash bags and storage containers.
• Assist with ad hoc duties as needed.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.

• Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.

• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.

• Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.

• Sweep or scrub floors.

• Clean garbage cans with water or steam.

• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.

• Lift or carry heavy weight objects, such as trash bags or food storage container

• Other duties, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must have weekend availability and work a minimum of 3 shifts per week

Physical Requirements:

• Spend time bending or twisting the body
