About the Position
The Holiday Inn Dulles is looking for a PM Dishwasher. This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all dishware and equipment, and completing general routine cleaning tasks. The employee will adhere to all health regulations and maintain high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.
Hours: 5pm - 12am.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the dish machine, ensuring minimum temperature requirements are met. Clean the dishwasher, change water, and clean curtains and traps. Air‑dry dishes as needed and ensure proper storage (not stored wet). Inspect dishes and rewash as necessary.
- Clean: remove trash, break down boxes, respond to scheduled cleaning, maintain floors, complete deep cleaning projects, perform quarterly power sprays in the kitchen, and occasionally clean other areas such as the associate break room.
- Guest Service: anticipate and respond to varying levels of demand to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Assist other team members within and outside the department to ensure guest needs are met.
- Cost Control: use equipment properly, adhere to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste, monitor use of dishwashing and cleaning chemicals, and help reduce breakage during washing and storage.
- Work Safely: maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Holiday Inn, brand, local, state, and federal regulations. Operate all equipment following safe and proper procedures. Follow all Holiday Inn procedures for guest/associate incidents and be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
- Self Management: produce required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing duties. Follow the Holiday Inn attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, and general work rules and department procedures. Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
- Other Duties: may be asked to plate for banquet events, prepare food, assist with production assignments such as cutting bulk prep of vegetables, and assist other areas as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Some high school coursework required.
- Must be dependable, pay attention to details, be customer focused, and be able to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast‑paced environment.
- Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds consistently throughout shift.
- Perform physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing, carrying, and moving about the dishroom continuously throughout the shift.
- Prior dishwashing experience strongly preferred. EEO AA M/F/Vet/Disabled
Compensation
$16 - $17 per hour.
