Job summary

Oaks Whitaker Glen in Raleigh, NC seeks a Dishwasher/Utility Worker to support food preparation, maintain sanitation, and assist the dietary team in delivering high-quality meals. Duties include following diet orders, assisting cooks, serving residents, and maintaining kitchen equipment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to follow instructions in a team setting, and physical stamina to lift up to 25 lbs. Previous food service in long-term care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow diet orders and NPO diet guidelines.
• Assist cooks in preparing meals, desserts, and snacks.
• Use proper food handling processes and safety procedures.
• Deliver trays to residents and serve meals in the dining area.
• Prepare between-meal nourishments and offer menu substitutions.
• Follow procedures for serving partner meals.
• Maintain cleaning, sanitizing, and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Communicate warmly and professionally with residents, families, and visitors.

Dishwasher / Utility Worker

This position assists with food preparation, ensures proper sanitation and maintenance of kitchen equipment, and supports the dietary team in delivering high-quality meals to residents and guests.

• Follow diet orders and NPO diet guidelines.
• Assist cooks in preparing meals, desserts, and snacks (e.g., salads, desserts, sandwiches).
• Use proper food handling processes and safety procedures.
• Deliver trays to residents and serve meals in the dining area.

• Follow procedures for serving partner meals.
• Maintain cleaning, sanitizing, and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment.
