Job summary

Legends Global, operating Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, NE, seeks a part-time Dishwasher to maintain a clean kitchen and keep the dish area organized during events.

Responsibilities include sorting and loading dishes, maintaining machines, monitoring temps, washing all wares, and assisting with deliveries. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 18+, and Food Handler Permit. Must work nights and weekends as needed. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Scrape and sort dishes before loading into the dishwashing machine.
• Maintain dishwashing machine and report faults to Executive/Sous Chef.
• Monitor water temperature during wash cycle and log readings.
• Wash dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils; by hand or machine.
• Store clean items after air-drying in proper areas.
• Keep kitchen areas, floors, walls clean and orderly.
• Ensure chemicals for dish machine and sink are stocked.
• Assist with deliveries and stocking as needed.
• Adhere to dress code: black pants and non-slip shoes.

POSITION: Dishwasher

DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef & Sous Chef

FLSA STATUS: Part-time Hourly, Non-Exempt

Summary

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Dishwasher position with Legends Global/Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Dishwasher maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes and keeps dish area free of clutter and organized. Ensures that the dish area is setup properly, including dish machine and sinks, in accordance with Legends Global’s applicable standards and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Scrape and sort dishes before loading them into a dishwashing machine for cleaning
• Maintain dishwashing machine and report any mechanical faults to Executive Chef or Sous Chef
• Monitor dish machine water temperature during sanitized wash cycle and record temperature on log
• Washes dishes, glassware, pots, pans, flatware and kitchen items using dish machines or by hand
• Places clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in storage areas after they have air-dried
• Clean work areas including equipment, floors, walls and cooking areas
• Ensures that all chemicals for dish machine and 3-compartment sink are kept filled
• Keeps all kitchen wares storage areas clean and orderly
• Remove trash from kitchen and transports to dumpster and clean/sanitize all garbage cans
• Assists with accepting delivery items and storage of such items
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or using carts
• Occasionally assist in kitchen prep
• Must adhere to the Legends Global’s dress code which includes wearing black pants and non-slip soled closed toe shoes

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Food Handlers Permit Required in accordance with the Lincoln-Lancaster Health Department

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to understand and follow direction
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to complete required pre-employment food service training, if applicable
• Ability to work in a team
• Positive attitude and neat appearance
• English preferred as primary language, but not required

Working Conditions

• Will be in contact with chemical cleaning agents
• Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass, metal cans, scalds and burns, slipping and tripping
• Frequently immerses hands in water; works frequently in a hot and damp environment

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for entire length of shift
• Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves
• Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting
• Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops and brooms

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
