Job summary

Baggerstown is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to maintain clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen areas essential to safe restaurant operations. This role supports the kitchen and Front of House, contributing to overall team efficiency.

The dishwasher will follow safety and sanitation procedures, assist with basic food prep and stocking when trained, and help manage deliveries and waste. Flexibility for various shifts is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and according to established procedures.
• Ensure items are properly cleaned and sanitized before returning them to service.
• Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area.
• Properly store clean dishes and equipment.
• Remove trash and recycling and replace liners as needed.
• Clean floors, mats, drains, walls, and designated kitchen areas.
• Assist with general kitchen cleaning and sanitation.
• Assist with basic food preparation or stocking when trained and assigned.
• Help receive, organize, and store deliveries when requested.
• Immediately clean or report spills and other safety hazards.
• Properly use and store cleaning chemicals.
• Follow chemical labels, SDS information, and company safety procedures.
• Never mix chemicals unless specifically permitted by manufacturer instructions.
• Complete assigned opening and closing duties.
• Assist other team members during high-volume periods.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary dishes, cookware, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas necessary for safe and efficient restaurant operations.

This position is a critical part of the Baggerstown team. An organized and efficient dish area helps the entire kitchen and Front of House operate successfully.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY & SANITATION EXPECTATIONS

Dishwashers must consistently follow sanitation procedures and use required personal protective equipment. Wet floors, hot equipment, broken glass, sharp objects, and cleaning chemicals must be handled according to Baggerstown safety procedures.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift approximately 25-50 pounds. The position regularly involves water, heat, steam, cleaning products, and wet surfaces.
