Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a part-time Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to maintain a steady supply of clean dishes in a busy food-service environment. You will hand-wash, load dishwashers, and help prep cooks during peak times.

You must follow sanitation policies, work quickly in a team, and communicate effectively with residents and staff. The role offers dental and vision benefits and may require occasional travel for training.

• Follow sanitation policies at all times.
• Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
• Perform opening, closing and side work assigned.
• Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately.
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to appropriate party.
• Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules.
• Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.

Job Overview:

As a Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper you’ll be responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans and glasses. Their duties include prioritizing loads of different types of crockery and kitchenware, hand‑washing dishes, loading the dishwasher and placing dishes to dry.

Your Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial dishwasher.
• Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary.
• Empty and clean all trash receptacles
• Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources.
• Clean dish storage.
• Follow sanitation policies at all times.
• Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time, climbing stairs, navigating the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet the job function
• Ability to lift 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures.
• Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time;
• Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3ft);
• Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment;
• Reach with hands and arms;
• Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers;

Schedule: Varies based on the needs of the community.

What We Offer:

As a part-time non‑exempt associate, you will be eligible for full supplemental benefits to include dental and vision. Occasional travel may be required to attend training and other company functions.

Compensation:

$20.00 per hour
