DISHWASHER POSITION SUMMARY
Dishwashers keep the restaurant and kitchen running smoothly by ensuring that all equipment and supplies are clean, sanitized, and organized.

DISHWASHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Provides Team Members and Guests with clean, sanitized, and spot-free utensils, dishware, glassware, and equipment.
2. Sets up the dish machine in the morning and closes it down in the evening according to proper procedures.
3. Maintains daily cleanliness and performs maintenance on the dish machine, troubleshooting malfunctions as needed.
4. Washes dishware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils while adhering to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
5. Gathers boxes and trash from kitchen and guest areas and disposes of them properly. Relines cans and returns them to their spots. Sweeps and mops floors.
6. Assists with prep duties when needed. Cleans and sanitizes throughout the shift.
7. Helps put away food and paper deliveries. Follows cooler diagrams and the “first in, first out” rule when stocking shelves. Marks vendor items with date received.
8. Supplies the line with needed items.
9. Supplies the bar and server stations with ice.
10. Completes opening, shift change, and closing checklists as well as weekly and monthly cleaning tasks.
11. Performs other duties as needed per supervisor request.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Ability to read and write in English.
2. Good communication skills, friendly, and people-oriented.
3. Enthusiastic, dependable, courteous, able to multitask.
4. Possesses basic math skills.

DISHWASHER QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

1. Stands 100% of the shift.
2. Lifts and carries weights of up to 50 lbs. during shift, placing items on high shelves and in walk-in coolers and freezers.
3. Frequent bending and stooping.
4. Works indoors 75%, outdoors 25%.
5. Works frequently in hot and damp environments.
6. Frequently immerses hands in water with chemical solutions.
7. Works with sharp knives and utensils.
8. Works with hot plates frequently.
