Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking a reliable dishwasher to join our fast-paced kitchen. You will wash dishes, maintain sanitation, organize the dish area, and assist with basic prep and deliveries as needed.

No prior experience required, but a strong work ethic, attention to health and safety rules, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds are valued. We offer health benefits, discounted meals, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure items are cleaned and sanitized according to health regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors and counters.
• Handle and maintain dishwashing equipment properly; report malfunctions.
• Replenish cleaning supplies as needed and organize items for easy access.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and stocking storage areas.
• Cross-train across various roles in the kitchen as needed.
• Support with any additional duties assigned.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and countertops. Regularly remove trash and place it in designated containers.
• Handle and maintain dishwashing equipment properly. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Kitchen Manager.
• Replenish cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent, sanitizers, and towels, as needed.
• Properly sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access and efficiency in the kitchen.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and putting them away in appropriate storage areas.
• Show willingness and ability to cross-train across various roles in the restaurant to ensure rapid growth in responsibilities and contribution to team success.
• Support with any additional duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant or similar environment is preferred but not required.
• Must possess dexterity to operate industrial dishwashing machines, handle pots/pans, and other equipment, and perform tasks with attention to detail.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Must be familiar with the measurement system.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to bend and reach overhead often.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
