Job summary

Casetta at Hotel Lucile in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, is opening soon and seeking a Dishwasher/Porter to support the kitchen and front-of-house teams. You will maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the dish room, storage areas, and related spaces to ensure a smooth service.

You will operate dishwashing equipment, assist with basic prep, receive deliveries, and help with event setup. The role requires a team focus and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Wash, rinse, sanitize and properly store dishes, glassware, flatware, cookware and kitchen utensils.
• Maintain clean dish machines and three-compartment sinks.
• Inspect items for cleanliness before returning them to service.
• Follow all sanitation and chemical handling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, drains, mats and work areas.
• Remove trash, recycling and food waste throughout the shift.
• Clean walk-ins, storage rooms, loading areas and employee areas.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and scheduled preventive cleaning.
• Restock cleaning supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
• Assist cooks with basic prep tasks when assigned.
• Receive and organize deliveries.
• Move supplies, equipment and products safely throughout the restaurant.
• Support banquet, catering and special event setup and breakdown.
• Comply with Casetta Management policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with California Retail Food Code, OSHA standards and all applicable federal, state and local laws.
• Use chemicals, knives and equipment safely.
• Immediately report safety hazards, equipment failures or injuries.

Job description

Hotel Lucile, Casetta's newest property, opens late summer 2026 in the heart of Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Housed in a landmark 1931 church, this 25-room boutique hotel blends preserved original details — stained glass, soaring wood beams, choir loft — with a restaurant, bar, rooftop, pool, and a rotating program of art and community events. We're building the opening team now and looking for people who want to help bring this space to life.

The Dishwasher / Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, dish room, storage areas, and other assigned workspaces at Sous Sous. This position supports the culinary and front-of-house teams by ensuring all dishes, cookware, utensils, equipment, and service items are cleaned, sanitized, and available for service while assisting with general cleaning and porter duties throughout the restaurant.
