Job summary

Oakmont of San Jose, a premier senior living community managed by Oakmont Management Group, seeks a part-time dishwasher to support our dining operations. You will prepare dish rooms, transport and sanitize items, and assist with kitchen cleanup while upholding our service standards.

Responsibilities include responding to resident needs professionally, maintaining safety, and promoting teamwork with staff across departments.

Qualifications

• Prefer six (6) months of experience working in a kitchen or similar setting.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact with employees, supervisors, physicians, residents, and families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including TB tests.
• COVID-19 or other PPE policies may be required per regulatory guidelines.

• Prepare dish room/area prior to meal service.
• Transport all dishes to the kitchen; clear, wash and sanitize; return to storage.
• Assist with kitchen cleanup and sanitation of dish room, dining areas, and equipment.
• Respond to resident concerns and complaints in a professional and caring manner.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

The Dishwasher

is responsible for ensuring that dishes and utensils are returned to the kitchen, cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored at all times, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dish room/area prior to meal service.
• Transport all dishes to the kitchen following meal preparation and mealtimes. Clear, wash and sanitize dishes and utensils. Return clean dishes and utensils to appropriate storage areas.
• Assist with breaking down the kitchen for clean-up. Perform general clean-up and sanitation clean-up of the dish room, kitchen, dining areas, steam tables, range hoods, sinks, and drains. Empty the trash.
• Respond to resident concerns and complaints in a professional and caring manner.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
