Job summary

Mambo Seafood Restaurants in Houston is seeking a Dishwasher to maintain cleanliness and sanitation for glassware, tableware, and utensils. You will assist with bussing tables, store deliveries, and keep areas clean in a fast-paced high-volume restaurant environment.

The ideal candidate is at least 17, communicates in English, and has a Food Handler Certificate. Spanish language is a plus. We offer a professional environment, flexible hours, and opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Ability to speak, write and read simple instructions in English.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional and welcoming attitude while at work.
• Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils.
• Empties and cleans all trash receptacles.
• Cleans and maintains parking lot and dumpster area.
• Cleans and maintains all dish, utensil, and food storage areas.
• Stocks supplies as necessary.
• Assists with bussing tables in dining room when needed.
• Puts away all food truck deliveries in designated area, following all food safety standards.
• Cleans up spills or broken glassware immediately.
• Reports any sanitation or janitorial issues to manager on duty.
• Follows and signs the checklist every 2 hours and adheres to sanitation policies at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Mambo has 13 restaurants in the Greater Houston area, 3 locations in San Antonio, and one franchised operation in the Rio Grande Valley. Mambo Seafood is poised for rapid growth!

Summary: The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. The Dishwasher assists with bussing tables and putting away deliveries, empties trash receptacles, and performs other cleaning duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Stands and walks on uneven, slippery, and/or wet surface for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Speaks and listens in-person to staff regarding food and safety matters for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Routinely lifts, stoops, kneels, bends, pushes, and pulls up to 50 pounds, and reaches overhead.
• Routinely carries full service tray. Washes utensils in a wet, soapy environment.
• Performs moderately strenuous activity for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Performs other physical requirements necessary to perform duties and responsibilities.

Working Environment

• Moderate noise, fast pace, high traffic, high temperatures, and regularly tolerate cleaning solutions.
