The Dishwasher will work to help the BOH team execute smooth service through dish and equipment upkeep. The ideal candidate will be excited to be part of the team and to uphold the Eli’s standards and values.
Responsibilities
- Clean cooking stations and equipment to help expedite service
- Clean and maintain FOH areas and curbside if requested by supervisor
- Keep open communication with BOH team and FOH team
- Maintain cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
- Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
- Assist in other BOH areas as needed including but not limited to basic food preparation
- Operate and utilize the dish machine and cleaning supplies
- Wash, sanitize and dry all kitchen utensils, equipment and other items placed in the dish area or as requested by Management and Staff
- Be available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
- Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
Qualifications
- Maintain a pace sufficient to prevent backup of dirty dishes, glasses, etc.
- Return and restock all items to appropriate area after washing and sanitizing procedures are completed
- Ability to read a thermometer
- Maintain dishwashing machinery and communicate any potential issues to Management
- Identify cleaning supplies and notify Management when running low
- Assist with general cleanliness of the back of house and restrooms
- Empty garbage (checking for restaurant supplies) and keep garbage areas clean and covered
- Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Get along well with others and be a team player
- Other duties will be assigned as needed
Physical Demands
The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
