The Sandbox is hiring dependable, hardworking Dishwashers to join our kitchen team and help keep operations running smoothly. If you take pride in cleanliness, work well in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy being part of a team, we'd love to meet you.

As a Dishwasher, you'll support kitchen operations by keeping dishes, cookware, utensils, and work areas clean and organized, ensuring sanitation and safety standards are met throughout every shift.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, kitchen, or dishwashing experience preferred but not required.
• Dependable, hardworking, and able to maintain a steady pace throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and sanitation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Keep the dish area clean, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter throughout the shift.
• Properly sort, store, and return clean dishes, utensils, and cookware to designated areas.
• Maintain an adequate supply of clean dishes and kitchen tools during busy service periods.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
• Empty trash and recycling and maintain clean waste disposal areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen, dish, and back-of-house floors as assigned.
• Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, work surfaces, storage areas, and other back-of-house spaces.
• Monitor dishwashing chemicals and supplies and notify kitchen leadership when items are running low.
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely according to company procedures.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing deliveries when needed.
• Support kitchen team members with basic prep or cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Complete opening, side work, and closing duties thoroughly and on time.
• Uphold The Sandbox's standards for cleanliness, teamwork, professionalism, and food safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a sports bar, casual dining restaurant, or entertainment venue.


• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.


• Experience operating commercial dishwashing equipment.


• Food Handler Certification preferred but not required.


• Positive attitude and commitment to supporting a clean, efficient kitchen team.
