Job Description

The Dishwasher position is vital to the success of Ginger and Baker. This position is extremely demanding and the backbone to the entire building.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment to ensure all dishware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment are sanitized properly.
• Provide guests and employees with clean and sanitized flatware, plate ware, glassware, kitchen utensils and equipment by ensuring that all ware is washed according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Set up the dish machine in the morning and close it in the evening according to company procedures. Change dish machine water out and clean when needed or every 2 hours.
• Place clean flatware, plate ware, glassware, kitchen utensils and equipment in previously specified shelves.
• Keep sanitation solution up to company codes at all times.
• Keep Chef de Cuisine/Sous Chef promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance within the dishwashing area and take prompt corrective action where necessary; suggest alternative courses of action which may be taken.
• Complete assigned cleaning details.

Schedule

This is not a Monday thru Friday job. It requires a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, holidays, but it is for those who love people and have the right attitude.

Responsibilities to Safety

• Protect the safety of self, Team Members and Guests at all times.
• Promptly report any incidents and/or potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor and/or appropriate department(s).
• Report/document safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor and appropriate department(s), following documented procedures.
• Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as required.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.

Additional Notes

This is not an easy job by any means. It is constantly busy with many different departments bringing you dishes at the same time. There are times when you will be by yourself and will need to manage your time properly. You will be busy every day, from the time you clock in to the time you clock out.
