Job summary

The Big Biscuit in Forest Hills, KS is seeking a dedicated dishwasher for daytime shifts (6:30 am – 2:30 pm). Great for part-time work; weekends and holidays are busiest.

You will wash and sanitize dishes, maintain a clean dish area, operate dish machines, take out trash, restock wares, and support kitchen staff while following all sanitation procedures.

This role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced breakfast and lunch service environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area.
• Operate dish machines safely and report issues.
• Take out trash and recycling.
• Restock clean dishes and small wares to stations.
• Support kitchen staff with basic prep or cleaning.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans according to health and safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, including sinks, machines, floors, and work surfaces
• Operate dish machines safely and report any issues to management
• Take out trash, and recycling
• Assist with restocking clean dishes and small wares to the appropriate stations
• Support kitchen staff by helping with basic prep or cleaning tasks when needed
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and cleanliness procedures
• Keep up with dish flow during peak service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain proper chemical usage and ensure correct sanitation levels

Physical & Lifting Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift (typically 4-8 hours)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (bus tubs, trash bags, stacks of dishes, equipment)
• Frequent bending, reaching, scrubbing, and working around hot water and steam
• Ability to work in a warm, humid dish area with constant movement

Work Environment

• High-volume breakfast and lunch service
