Job Overview

Adhere to restaurant specifications and standards in operating the dishwashing machine to wash restaurant and kitchen wares. Wash pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils and equipment. Assist in cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain interior and exterior physical property and fixtures in and about the restaurant.

Essential Qualifications and Competencies

• Ability to effectively communicate with guests, co-workers, and management.

• Flexible and adaptable with strong stress management skills.
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous restaurant experience preferred.
• Sanitation Certificate.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain reliable on-site attendance.
• Remove excess food from soiled wares, rinse, and position in racks for dishwashing.
• Inspect cleanliness and rewash if standards are not met.
• Handle wares carefully to prevent breakage.
• Change dishmachine water/filter and refill as needed.
• Check and maintain dishwashing machine condition.
• Setup and organize workstation; report shortages.
• Clean work areas, spills, and broken glass immediately.
• Ensure sinks and drains are free of debris.
• Follow all health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Transport and dispose of garbage properly.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must frequently stand and walk; handle objects and tools; talk and hear; reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Exposure to extreme temperatures, moisture, and loud noise may occur.
