• Dispose of department trash and sanitize garbage cans regularly.
• Sweep and mop dish room, kitchen, storeroom, and office floors as scheduled.
• Clean and maintain carts and shelving used for food and supply storage.
• Rotate stock on a first-in/first-out basis.
• Support safe patient care by maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the food service areas.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Entry‑level; prior experience as a sanitation worker in a hospital is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness to be cross‑trained within the Food Service department.

Must haves

• 1 year of dishwashing experience or kitchen experience.
• Understanding of food safety requirements.
• Ability to explain the importance of PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Knowledge and understanding of chemical control.
