Job summary

Hyat is seeking a Dishpit - Steward for our Wichita location. The role focuses on cleaning and maintaining dishwashing areas and ensuring all glassware, silverware, cookware and serving utensils are spotless and sanitary.

Applicants should be able to stand and move for most of the shift, lift moderate to heavy weights, and work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Prior hotel experience is preferred, with emphasis on OSHA safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) or older.
• One year hotel experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA and Safety regulations.
• Ability to be on feet and in motion for majority of shift.
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy weight.
• Flexible with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain food and beverage storage, preparation and service areas and materials.
• Ensure spotless, sanitary glassware, silverware, cookware and serving utensils.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and effectively.
• Interact with staff and guests in a professional manner under pressure.

Position Objectives

This position is responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning/maintaining the food and beverage storage, preparation and service areas and materials. Also responsible for ensuring spotless, sanitary glassware, silverware, cookware and serving utensils.

Qualifications

Requirements
The ability to be on feet and in motion for majority of shift required. Ability to lift moderate to heavy amount of weight. Basic knowledge of dishwashing equipment operation and chemicals necessary. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
