Job summary

The Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a reliable Dishwasher to ensure our meal service dishes are clean and ready to serve. Responsibilities include loading and unloading the dishwasher, washing glassware and kitchen items, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.

Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and some experience in a professional kitchen is preferred. The role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work in a hot, humid environment.

Qualifications

• Some experience in a professional kitchen is a plus.
• Able to safely operate industrial machinery and carry loads up to 20 lbs.
• Able to work in a hot, humid environment and stand for 8-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload dishwasher safely and efficiently.
• Wash glassware and various kitchen items by hand, when necessary.
• Clean iced tea and coffee machines daily.
• Organize and manage the placement of all kitchen items and dishes.
• Perform basic janitorial skills to clean up spills, broken glassware, etc.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable Dishwasher to ensure our meal service dishes are clean and ready to serve. You will clean and dry all dishes, glasses, and silverware and check that they are stocked properly throughout your shift. While on duty, you must ensure that the dish room is kept clean and that equipment is stored properly. You will also be responsible for sweeping and mopping floors in the kitchen area, removing trash, and gathering soiled linens from tables at the end of each meal service and anything else that the chef needs assistance with.

Dishwasher Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload dishwasher safely and efficiently
• Wash glassware and various kitchen items by hand, when necessary
• Clean iced tea and coffee machines daily
• Organize and manage the placement of all kitchen items and dishes
• Perform basic janitorial skills to clean up spills, broken glassware, etc. immediately
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to management

Dishwasher Requirements and Qualifications
