Job summary

Hunger Mountain Co-op in Montpelier, VT seeks a Dish & Kitchen Assistant on a substitute basis with varied hours. You will maintain kitchen cleanliness, assist with produce prep and inventory, and support the Kitchen Manager to ensure sanitation standards are met.

Responsibilities include dishwashing, station maintenance, and safe handling of kitchen equipment. Flexible shifts 6a-2p or 1p-9p may be required, with opportunities to fill regular hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently during busy service periods.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Follow safety policies and Hunger Mountain Co-op procedures.
• Provide excellent service to customers, vendors and coworkers.
• Ability to work onsite at the Co-op.

Responsibilities

• Clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to sanitation standards.
• Restock and manage kitchen areas and walk-in cooler items.
• Maintain kitchen recycling, compost and trash.
• Prepare ingredients for salad bar and assist prep staff.
• Follow safety guidelines and department policies.
• Attend departmental meetings and participate in safety practices.
• Assist in general department maintenance.
• Ensure friendly, efficient customer service.
