Job summary

Velvet Taco in Addison, TX is seeking kitchen professionals to join our team. Full-Time/Part-Time positions available with an hourly wage of $16.00 to $18.00, plus tips. The role focuses on high-volume, scratch kitchen prep, following recipes, maintaining FIFO and cleanliness.

Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience, food handlers certification, and a passion for tacos. Be part of a fun, fast-paced culture where teamwork, quality and flavor are celebrated.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume restaurant is preferred.
• Scratch kitchen experience is a plus.
• Strong kitchen knowledge and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality food items to order with passionate speed.
• Follow recipes and ensure food presentation looks outstanding.
• Complete prep list, portion products per spec.
• Run your station efficiently, stock food as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, and methods.
• Assist with deliveries, FIFO labeling, and proper rotation.
• Maintain a driven pace with good cleaning habits throughout shift.
• Assist with cleaning smallwares and equipment as needed.
• Other functions as assigned by management.

Principal Duties

• Prepare high quality food items to order with passionate speed
• Follow the recipes and always make sure food presentation looks outstanding
• Complete assigned prep list, portion all products per spec
• Efficiently run your station during the shift, follow all recipes and stock food as needed
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, and preparation methods
• Assist in ensuring deliveries are received and stored in a timely manner
• Label food and ensure proper rotation (FIFO)
• Maintain a driven, intense pace with good cleaning habits throughout shift
• Assist with cleaning smallwares and equipment as needed
• Other functions as assigned by management

Additional Requirements

• Aligns with Velvet Taco’s culture
• 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant; scratch kitchen experience a plus
• Food Handlers Certification
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
