Job Description
TheDisengagement Clerk is responsible for managing a high volume of cases efficiently and effectively. This role involves proactive follow-up, providing regular updates to clients, ALG staff members, and attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, file, and serve substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings reviewed by attorneys and other documents essential to the case
- Create new requests for substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings
- Communicate with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, defendants, opposing counsel, internal staff, and clients to facilitate case closure
- Audit filed substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings, and update firm's case management system with the results.
- Serve substitution/dismissal-related orders, notices of intent, and other documents issued by the court and assigned to our firm for service
- Serve applicants with disengagement notices
- Serve applicants their file
- Close and reopen cases
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in worker's compensation or legal field (preferred)
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) (preferred)
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Knowledge of CA Workers’ Compensation Laws (Preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to observe details on a computer or other electronic screens.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently with little supervision
- Client focused, with the commitment to outstanding customer service and the ability to deliver results.
