Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; RN substitution with 3 additional years of clinical research experience
• Minimum 5 years of clinical research experience
• Experience directing and managing disease groups / clinical trials
• Strong knowledge of patient care in protocol adherence and compliance

Responsabilités

• Direct and manage specified Disease Groups within the LSU Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office (CC-CTO)
• Ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and effective conduct of clinical trials in the portfolio
• Provide guidance for direct patient care in relation to study protocol requirements
• Establish, implement, and evolve operational standards; monitor quality and progress
• Supervise CC-CTO Clinical Trial Coordinators and RN CTCs; oversee portfolio management
• Support investigators, nurses, pharmacists, pathologists, radiologists, and other staff on compliance and research processes

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Disease Group Supervisor (DGS) will be responsible for directing and managing specified Disease Groups within the LSU Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office (CC-CTO). The Disease Group Supervisor will ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and effective conduct of clinical trials within the disease groups’ portfolio. They will be expected to perform or provide guidance for direct patient care in relationship to study protocol requirements. The DGS will establish, implement, and evolve operational standards, monitor quality and progress, and supervise the CC-CTO Clinical Trial Coordinators (CTC) and RN CTC’s.

This position requires a strong emphasis on portfolio management, quality and accountability, and process improvement and growth. The incumbent will work within a multidisciplinary environment with colleagues both internally and externally in a cooperative manner exercising respectfulness and professionalism. They will also serve as a resource regarding clinical research, clinical trial protocols, and compliance for Investigators, Nurses, Pharmacists, Pathologists, Radiologists, and other healthcare personnel involved in the care and management of clinical research patients.
