Job summary

GDS Wealth Management in Flower Mound, TX, seeks a Portfolio Manager to partner with the CIO, manage discretionary portfolios and oversee model mapping and tax-aware strategies. Your role includes directing the trading desk and delivering insights to Advisors and clients.

You will need a CFA/CIMA or equivalent and a finance degree, plus four+ years in portfolio management with SMA experience and a solid grasp of equity, fixed income and risk management.

Qualifications

• PM experience required, with ability to manage discretionary portfolios in a fiduciary setting.
• Credentials such as CFA/CIMA and a related finance degree are required or strongly preferred.
• Experience building and maintaining model-based portfolios across multiple households; knowledge of SMA structures is a plus.
• Strong understanding of equity analysis, fixed income and structured products and their role in an overall portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Manage discretionary portfolios in partnership with the CIO, documenting approved model exceptions.
• Assign each client to the appropriate model based on objectives, risk profile and restrictions.
• Own the firm’s risk-profiling platform, including risk scores and model mapping.
• Direct the trading desk on trades, rebalancing and tax-loss harvesting.
• Monitor drift and concentration and address issues early.
• Present research and recommendations to the CIO and investment committee.
• Provide Advisors with portfolio, performance and market insight they can share with clients.
• Document investment decisions and their rationale.
