Description

Monday-Thursday (4p-2a & 5a-3p), Friday-Sunday (6a-6pm)

This is a working lead position; the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the set-up of running orders at the beginning of each shift. They will also be responsible for printing orders on different digital presses efficiently, maximizing time and minimizing waste.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the Production Manager with daily functions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Communicate with other departments regarding workflow and order movement.
• Utilize OM to track order status throughout departments.
• Set up and print label jobs on press with minimal waste, following priorities set by the Production Manager.
• Assist employees with their tasks and solve production problems related to specific jobs.
• Support other press operators with material needs (paper, ink, die).
• Clean printing presses at the end of each shift.
• Maintain press and equipment.
• Assist other operators with questions, setup, and issues.
• Train and coach new operators.
• Communicate effectively with peers and other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of all Digital Presses.
• High School diploma or equivalent; additional specialized training is a plus.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, and interpret simple correspondence and memos.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of mechanics, hazard communication standards, and material safety data sheets.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

• Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment, including dust, dirt, noise, chemicals, etc. (21%-50% of work time).
• Prolonged walking, standing, grasping, reaching, pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, and manual dexterity.
• Regularly required to hear, speak, and see colors.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Work involves rotating and hazardous equipment requiring safety precautions.
