Job summary

The Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) is seeking a Disciplinary Counsel for Intake to review, investigate, and analyze grievances against lawyers in a high-volume environment. The role supports the Managing Disciplinary Counsel – Intake, opening files, and guiding staff on responses to inquiries.

Ideal candidates will hold a JD or WSBA Law Clerk Program completion, be an active WA Bar member, and have at least 2 years of legal practice; 5 years preferred with strong communication,

Qualifications

• Must have a Juris Doctor or completion of WSBA Law Clerk Program.
• Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of practicing law; 5 years preferred with diverse experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews grievances and determines if further investigation is needed.
• Investigates and analyzes lawyer conduct; drafts dismissal letters and notes.
• Directs investigators and coordinates intake decisions with staff.
• Supports intake team and handles inquiries from the public and members.
